The Denver Women’s Chorus (DWC) and the Denver Gay Men’s Chorus (DGMC) join forces for the Rocky Mountain regional premiere of Quiet No More: A Choral Celebration of Stonewall — the Official Kick-Off Event for Denver Pride!
The show celebrates the 50th anniversary of the uprising at the Stonewall Inn, a seminal event that gave birth to the gay rights movement in the United States. The combined ensembles will premier a newly commissioned choral work commemorating this 1969 landmark event, as well as give individual performances of Pride songs during the first act of the monumental concert event. The show also features works from the musicals Hello Dolly and Next to Normal, as well as composers Holly Near and Mark Hayes.
Now, that’s entertainment worth COMING OUT for! The shows will take place June 7-8 at the King Center, located on the Auraria Campus.
In late June, DWC and the DGMC will travel to New York City to join more than 500 singers from GALA choruses across the United States in a special performance of Quiet No More at Carnegie Hall.
