“Coors Light has been a sponsor of the Center on Colfax and the Pride Parade and Denver PrideFest for nearly two decades,” said Miller Coors spokesperson Michael Nordman. “We are incredibly proud to continue supporting the Center’s vital programs and services that positively impact the LGBTQ community.”
Thanks to support from companies such as Miller Coors, Denver PrideFest has become the largest celebration of LGBTQ pride in the Rocky Mountain region. This year’s Coors Light Denver Pride Parade will be the biggest ever with nearly 250 entries.
Beyond supporting Denver PrideFest, Miller Coors has a distinguished history of supporting LGBTQ communities across the country, with significant support for organizations such as Human Rights Campaign (HRC), Matthew Shepard Foundation, National Amateur Gay Athletics Association of America, National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, Athlete Ally, Out & Equal, and One Colorado.
In addition to these partners, we work with local LGBTQ organizations in key communities through our Great Cents program donating more than $100,000 over the last five years to Chicago-based LGBTQ charities. In 2016, 21 bars and 12 charities participated with a donation of nearly $35,000. MillerCoors field teams in Sacramento, San Francisco and Washington D.C. also implemented the program in 2016 donating nearly $5,000 each to local charities.
MillerCoors has an ERG known as LAGER (LGBT and Allies Group Employees Resources) that provides support to LGBTQ employees and allies to develop a safe and inclusive workplace in which all employees are treated equally. Chapters exist at our corporate offices and breweries in Chicago, Golden, Milwaukee, and Shenandoah. Each group organizes community events, volunteer programs, and promotes workplace diversity and inclusion initiatives, which helps MillerCoors earn the distinction of one of HRC’s “Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality.”
