The Center is partnering with The Phoenix, a free sober active community for individuals who are in recovery from a substance use disorder and those who choose a sober life, to host a series of training runs to get you ready for the Pride 5K. Using a peer support model, The Phoenix helps members heal and rebuild their lives while also striving to eliminate stigma around recovery.

The 8-week training program will run April 22-June 10 to prepare for the Pride 5K. Every Sunday, participants will meet at City Park in Denver at the City Park Pavilion on Ferril Lake for a group run, as well as to receive some additional exercises for the week to help keep your training momentum going.

All of the training runs are free and open to the public, however in accordance with The Phoenix’s peer support model, all participants have to sustain 48 hours of continuous sobriety before any activity with The Phoenix. And, we’re here for you when you’re ready, because together we are stronger!
